Ixworth Free School Progress

Ixworth Free SchoolWe have recently received information that on the 22 May 2013, Ixworth Free School were told by the Department for Education that their “application to establish Ixworth Free School has been successful as the Secretary of State has decided it should proceed to the next stage of the free schools process.

We had initially writtten about their application in a news article last year which laid out more information on the detail of their bid.

We have been asked by Robert Cawley, the Principal of the Seckford Foundation Free Schools Trust to provide to interested parents more detailed information on the school

The letter to parents lays out the information on the work that has been done since the decision as well as laying out the admissions process and the public consultation. This document can be downloaded here.

Also included at this stage is a mock prospectus for the Ixworth Free School which will give parents more information about what to expect when the school opens in 2014.

“I am proud and privileged to be the Principal of Ixworth Free School where we are dedicated to developing a safe, vibrant, successful and student centred place of learning. We believe that our students are capable of truly fantastic things and at our school we share high expectations of all and expect them to achieve their very best.

Working with parents / carers and the local community we intend to fulfil our duty to provide excellent opportunities each of which enables our students to enjoy their learning and excel. We also have high expectations of behaviour and appearance. We want our students to wear their uniform with pride and conduct themselves in a manner of which we can all be proud.”
