On 11th & 12th July the playing field of Bardwell will see a two day festival of music, real ale & family fun. This will be the 5th year that the Bardwell Cricket Club will have run the annual BardFest event.
The cricket club’s major fundraiser each year is now BardFest. Over 1000 people visited BardFest over 2 days last year. It’s a real family event with live bands and entertainment, along with a real ale and cider bar (with over 35 ales and ciders this year), a Pimms tent and side stalls.
It really does turn into a fun party on both nights, Headlining this year are an 11 piece Blues Brothers Tribute act, which we think will be excellent. Tickets are very reasonably priced for any visitors from surrounding villages such as Ixwroth
The cricket club raises money to develop their Junior Cricket section within the village club. Bardwell CC – which was founded in 2007. They have 2 senior Sunday XI’s, midweek XI, friendly Xi, U15’s, U13’s, U11’s, U9’s and a Ladies team. On a Saturday they can have up to 70 children coming to our junior coaching sessions. They try to keep membership fees to a minimum so that we can be fully inclusive and get people active by playing our great summer sport. However, this costs money and Bardfest provides.
