Ixworth is a thriving village in Suffolk. It is located between Bury St Edmunds and Diss just off the A143.
The community includes a selection of local shops, library, two schools and a fire station. There are two public houses – the Greyhound and the Pykerrell and Courtyard Cafe.
Ixworth has a large village hall in the centre of the village, which is the meeting place for several different community groups. It also houses the library – for more information please see www.ixworthvillagehall.co.uk.
Behind the hall is the playing field. This area is used widely by the community with a children’s play area and some football pitches.
Local businesses in the village range from three takeaways, a beauty salon, a clothes shop, garages, hairdressers, a dressmaker and upholsterer, a village store and an undertaker!
